Aquaculture, Semarang. The 5th International Tropic Summer Course (ITroSCo) will be held from 21 August 2023 to 2 September 2023. This time, the theme is Coral Reef: Biodiversity For Sustainable Future. Designed to increase knowledge about underwater experiences, especially coral reefs. By providing expert speakers from abroad, namely, Dr. Takashi Nakamura from Japan and Maria Vanessa Baria-Rodriguez, Ph.D from the Philippines. Then speakers from within the country: Peni Ahmadi, Ph.D.; Dr. Frida Purwanti; Dr. Dwi Haryanti; Dr. Muhammad Helmi; Prof. Slamet Budi Prayitno; Dr. Ofri Johan and Dr. Tita Elfitasari.
This year, the committee has selected 43 (forty-three) students to participate in the program. These students represent foreign nationalities and universities from Asia, Africa, Australia, and South America, hailing from 16 countries. They hail from Bangladesh, Pakistan, Philippines, Japan, India, Papua New Guinea, Nigeria, Thailand, Kyrgyz Republic, Yemen, Trinidad and Tobago, Sierra Leone, Kenya, Afghanistan, Fiji Islands, and Indonesia. Hopefully, this activity will further strengthen UNDIP and FPIK’s position in the international arena!
