Semarang – In the framework of World Class Professor 2021 activities, the Department of Aquaculture, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, Universitas Diponegoro (FPIK UNDIP) held an online seminar with the theme: “Management of Parasitic Diseases in Australian Mariculture.” The speaker of this event is Prof. Barbara F. Nowak., Ph.D., Professor and Associate Dean Research Training at the University of Tasmania and moderated by Dr. Lestari L. Widowati, S.Pi., M.Pi, Lecturer at Department of Aquaculture – UNDIP. This event started with opening remarks by the Dean of Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science.

This WCP aimed to teach the students and all participants about the parasitic disease in Australian mariculture and its management as one of SDGs goals number 14. This activity was attended by more than 300 people either via zoom or YouTube, and the participants were very enthusiastic in participating in this activity. Participants came from academics and business people, the government, and the general public. The participants were able to see the difference in management carried out in Australia compared to Indonesia to come up with new ideas that could be applied to disease management in the cultivation process in Indonesia.
