Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Diponegoro University held ICTCRED to-5 (International Conference on Tropical and Coastal Region Eco Development) on 17-18 September 2019 at Gumaya Hotel Semarang. The event was attended by the Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation, Prof. Ambariyanto, Dean of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences Prof. Tri Winarni, Dean of the Faculty of Law Prof. Retno Saraswati, and academics from various fields of marine and military. This international seminar is an annual event that aims to promote and disseminate the results of research on the “Development of the Tropical Zone and Coastal Ecosystems”. ICTRED theme this year is “Integrated Coastal Management for Sustainable Development”. There are several key speakers, who contributed in 2019 ICTCRED, including:
- Budi P. Resosudarmo from the Australian National University, Australia with expertise in the field of fisheries economics.
- Erik de Ruijter van Steveninck, Ph.D from Delft IHE Institute for Water Education, The Netherlands with expertise in the field of marine ecology.
- Hiroki Saeki, Ph.D. from Hokkaido University, Japan with expertise in food science and technology of marine products.
- Eddy Pratomo, SH., MA from the University of Diponegoro in the field of coastal policy expertise.
- Tony Hadibarata from Curtin University, Malaysia with expertise in the field of environmental microbiology.
ICTCRED committee chairman in 2019, Dr. Aris Ismanto, S.Sc., M.Sc. said that through this seminar, Diponegoro University FPIK encourage academics, researchers and students to publish their research in leading international journals and proceedings. This activity will be followed by more than 200 presenters from more than 4 countries. Plans to research presented at ICTCRED 2019 will be published to the Institute of Physics (IOP), Biodiversity, WRA (World Researchers Associations), and AACL (Aquaculture, Aquarium, and Conservation & Legislation) Bioflux. In line with the committee chairman, Prof. Dean FPIK Tri Winarni in the event adding that the seminar is also a form of collaboration with the legal, economic, social, and marine science.

As we know that the University of Diponegoro actually have a pattern of basic scientific regarding the development of coastal areas, the basic pattern is used as a basis for organizing the conference.
